Chapter 2
The two wolves looked at each other for a while. Link had never seen anything like her before, and her scent, unfamiliar. His wolf side couldn't help but think of her as beautiful and his tail began wagging. This female wolf then began to walk away and Link saw something he had never seen before. As she walked a trail of flowers were left behind her. Link stared at the flowers in astonishment before looking up to see she was out of his sight. He went to the other side of the spring where she had been and sniffed at the flowers. They were real he knew, but how had she done this. He looked at the trail and saw it leading deeper into the woods and without a second thought began to follow it.
As he followed the trail he noticed something strange about the trees. They didn't look as if they had always been there. In fact to him they look painted.

He had a more important task in his mind though; he had to find this wolf. He began running as his instincts took over hopping over logs or bushes that got in his was. He had no idea how far he had gone nor did he care.  The trail soon led him out of the woods and he looked around noticing the flowers leading up a tall mountain. He walked to the base of the mountain and looked up.  He then began his journey up the mountain using rocks that were jutted out to land on. As he got higher a gentle breeze blew as a gentle howl was heard.

As he jumped to a rock his paws lost their footing and he took a small fall. Luckily, there was a rock directly underneath him the he landed on, receiving a cut in his side in the process.  He got his footing once again and began climbing once more. Link finally reached the top of the mountain pulling himself up with his forelegs.  As he looked around his heart dropped not noticing her before he heard the howl again and saw her sitting on a rock slightly higher up. Her white coat glistened in the moonlight and Link could not help but stare as he walked towards her. She looked over at him and gave a smile that made the hero blush. The female wolf then look towards the moonlight and howled again. Link climbed up the rock she was sitting on and sat down next to her. She looked at him as she howled and Link joined in.

Their howls filled the night sky as the breeze passed through their fur. Together their howls joined as one to make one beautiful howl. The rest of the world seemed still for Link as he continued. The animals in the forest below stopped what they were doing to look towards the direction of the howl. What they heard was the song of two souls connecting becoming one. The way unbeknownst to Link, wolves became a pair. As Link and this mysterious wolf girl finished they looked into each others eyes and smiled both their tails wagging. Link flinched slightly from his wound from earlier. The girl noticed and went to his side and gently licked the wound. Link's blush could be seen under his fur as she did so. As she licked the wound began to heal. Once done she looked up and gave a caring smile. He yipped happily thanking her.

Suddenly the wolf girl tackled him down and began rolling around with him. Link at first took this as a sign of danger but his instincts told him she was just playing. As he rolled around with her he couldn't help but grin ear to ear. This is what he missed, just having fun and being happy. The female wolf got the upper hand however and was able to pin him on his back. She then leaned down and whispered into Likn's ear. "Okami.' She licked his cheek and then ran off and down the mountain vanishing before Link knew what was going on. "Okami…' While blushing he stood up and made his way back to the castle.

Link awoke to the usual breakfast in the morning but didn't bother to wave the servant off. He was hungry from the climb last night and was in too good a mood to even care. As the servant left with the empty tray of food Link rubbed his cheek. Thinking to himself 'Okami….' He smiled and almost tripped while getting out of the bed lost in his own thoughts. He stated to change as he heard footsteps at the door. "Link?' It was Zelda. "We need to talk.'  He heard her footsteps leave after that. He sighed, what could she want now. He then remembered the bandit and groaned. Having spent the whole night with Okami he had completely forgotten about the bandit. After getting dressed and putting his gear on he walked to the throne room.

"I have a task for you today hero.' She smiled at him and motioned him over to herself. He did as she wanted and walked over to her. 'I want you to patrol the town today, make sure everything is going alright Linkie~' She smiled and leaned in close to him closing her eyes for a kiss. Link as she did so was already half way out of the castle. He had been given his task and had no time to waste. Zelda noticing he wasn't there opened her eyes. "Hmph.' She crossed her arms. Link walked through the streets of Hyrule with a smile on his face. As he was looking at an armory store a voice he had not heard in a while called out to him.

"Link! Link!' A girl with long brown hair wearing a blue dress ran to him. "I haven't seen you in ages, how have you been?' This was Angel an old friend of Link's one of his first since he had come to live in Hyrule. He smiled showing he was good. "Great!' She smiled back. "Oh, and I have to show you something.' Link looked at her curiously. "You know my boyfriend AJ?' Link knew the AJ well as he was a close friend and a powerful knight. "Well…' she held up her left hand showing a ring on it. "He proposed last night; we were out by this lake when we heard two wolves howling together. They were beautiful anyone could tell they were mates….sorry, anyway after they were done AJ asked the question. Of course I said yes.' She giggled excitedly.

Link smiled wide and hugged her. He loved Angel like a sister and was happy for her. Angle returned the hug. "So how are you and Zelda doing?' Angel asked curiously. Link sighed and rolled his eyes slightly at the question. A lot of people thought he was with her, he couldn't blame them but he still got annoyed at the fact. "That good, huh?' She sighed but then smiled. "You'll find your lady someday Link.' She hugged him again. "Also AJ wants to see you, he's in the tavern.' Link nodded and then walked off. As he walked his mind trailed back to what Angel had said before about the two wolves howling. He had not heard any other wolves but the thought of her made him smile. He couldn't be with her anyway; he wasn't a 'real' wolf. He then sighed as he walked into the tavern.

As he walked in the familiar smell of beer and fighting cheered him up a bit. "Link! There you are!' AJ called out to him from across the bar. He was a tall armored man who Link instantly recognized due to his shaggy black hair. "I have a question for you.' Link walked over curious as to what the question would be. "I want you to be my best man Link.' AJ smiled as he asked. Link nodded and gave AJ a pat on the back. Of course he would do this it was the wedding of his two best friends. The joyous moment was interrupted by a clash of swords outside. Without a word to each other Link and AJ ran out to see what the trouble was. Outside there were six bandits and one, Link recognized.
